1/4 cup shortening (Crisco)
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup strong coffee
4 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp baking soda - dissolve ion the coffee
1 tsp anise
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
Mix all ingredients together and shape into balls
Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes
shake in a bag of confectionery sugar
All the recipes that we've used over the years have vanished from my brain -- well many of them anyway. Place your best recipes used over the year's like Ginny's sausage and peppers, Warren's garlic sauce, etc., and we will build a data base of family recipes we can pass on to everyone
